Asharqia Chamber presents you with the best greetings and would like to inform you of the letter of the Council of Saudi Chambers (SG / 2282) dated 11/09 / 1440, which referred to the letter of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority No. 60162 / AD dated 4/9/1440 on the Authority's review of safety and efficacy files for the veterinary products containing Colistin, as the Authority has read the reports of relevant international organizations and presented them to the registration committee of companies and factories of veterinary medicines and their products, which issued resolution (12 / B / 541/40) dated (17/7/1440), which states: the prohibition of the importation and use of all Veterinary medicine that are containing the active substance (Colistin), as well as the elimination and withdrawal of a specific set of medicine and the limited use of colistin on human pharmaceuticals only.
As per the Authority's request, all importers / users of the specified product must adhere to the above, and manufacturers have been contacted to comply.
